Severe thunderstorms and tornadoes are real risks here
The DFW and North Texas area, Hunt County included, sees frequent severe weather from March through May. Tornadoes, large hail, and straight-line winds are the main threats. Flash flooding along the Sabine River forks is an additional risk.
The National Weather Service office in Fort Worth covers Hunt County. Sign up for wireless emergency alerts on your phone, and know the location of the nearest shelter if you live in a manufactured home or mobile home. Check weather.gov/fwd for current watches and warnings.
