The Caddo Creek bridge is the WMA's clearest fishing stop

Tawakoni WMA is not a continuous park shoreline. TPWD calls its fishing opportunities limited and names the Caddo Creek bridge at SH 34 as one place to reach crappie, sand bass, drum, and catfish. Fishing is also allowed in Lake Tawakoni, but access depends on the WMA unit.

The permit detail matters. Visitors 17 and older need an Annual Public Hunting Permit or Limited Public Use Permit to enter the WMA; anglers also follow current fishing-license and lake regulations. TPWD lists separate entry points for Pawnee Inlet, Caddo Creek, and Duck Cove. Its rules page is the useful gate map because it names the road for each unit.
