Hunt County wells do not have a local groundwater district
TWDB's Groundwater Management Area 8 table puts Hunt County's listed aquifers under "No District-County." In plain terms, no local groundwater district sets the usual well or pumping rules for those aquifers.
TCEQ says land outside a district generally follows the rule of capture. That rule still has limits. A landowner may not waste groundwater, pump only to harm a neighbor, or carelessly cause the land to sink.
For one well, check TWDB or TCEQ records for its log, depth, casing, and driller. A log does not show today's water quality. TCEQ says the well owner is in charge of regular testing and recommends an approved drinking-water lab. Recheck the district map because boundaries can change.
