Crescent Bend Nature Park Puts Schertz on Cibolo Creek

Crescent Bend Nature Park gives the Schertz side of Guadalupe County a real creek-bottom public space. The City of Schertz lists the park at 12805 W. Schaefer Road and calls it a 180-acre nature park.

Inside you will find miles of hike-and-bike trail, wildflowers, picnic areas, benches, restrooms, parking, and a scout group camping site. There are two bird blinds where the city says rare species have been spotted, plus access down to Cibolo Creek for fishing.

For someone comparing the suburban edges of the county, this park is a useful clue. Schertz has subdivisions and commuter roads, but it also keeps a big stretch of open creek bottom where walking, birding, and quiet outdoor time are part of the local map.
