River Park
Max Starcke Park Keeps Seguin Close to the Guadalupe River
Max Starcke Park is the heart of Seguin's river side. The 227-acre park straddles both banks of the Guadalupe, with an east entrance at 1115 S. Austin Street and a west entrance at 1354 River Drive West. It was dedicated in 1938 on land that had been a pecan orchard, which is part of why so much of it is shaded and green.
The park packs in a walking trail, fishing, paddling-trail access, an 18-hole golf course, disc golf, a dog park, tennis and pickleball courts, ballfields, and pavilions and picnic areas scattered throughout. That range makes it more than one ball field — it is river access, family space, and everyday outdoor time in one public park.
For a resident or buyer, this is a good place to know before you judge a Seguin neighborhood from the road. Check the City of Seguin page for current hours, pavilion rentals, and any river or facility notices before planning a visit.
