Renew a Polk County tag online; take title work to the tax office

A routine tag renewal may be finished online through TxDMV. Take a title transfer or a case with extra papers to the Polk County Tax Assessor-Collector at 416 N. Washington Ave. in Livingston. That office handles the main local title and tag services.

Since January 1, 2025, most personal vehicles no longer need a safety check before registration. Polk County is outside the emissions program. Business vehicles follow other check rules, so confirm the vehicle class before you skip that step.
