No emissions test required to register your car in Gregg County

As of January 1, 2025, Texas no longer requires an annual safety inspection for non-commercial vehicles. In a set of 17 counties, mostly in the Dallas, Houston, Austin, and El Paso areas, drivers must still get an emissions inspection. Gregg County is not on that list. Most Gregg County drivers need no inspection at all before registering.
