Register your boat at the Gregg County tax office

Texas requires all motorized boats, and sailboats 14 feet and longer, to be registered. You can register in person at the Gregg County Tax Assessor-Collector office at 101 E. Methvin St., Suite 110, Longview. The office handles boat title transfers as well as registration renewals.

Boat registrations in Texas are valid for two years. You will need proof of ownership (title or bill of sale for new boats), the boat's hull identification number, and payment of the registration fee. Rules for what must be displayed on the hull, such as registration numbers and decals, are set by TPWD.
