TRWD Also Runs Parks and Trails
TRWD built land and water systems for supply and flood control. Those working sites also became public space. The district now manages four lakes, three parks, and more than 100 miles of trails.
The Trinity Trails follow the Fort Worth floodway through 31 neighborhoods and 21 city parks. Eagle Mountain Park has hiking. Twin Points has a swim beach and boat ramp. Marine Creek has a trail around the water. Airfield Falls adds a waterfall beside the air station. Each place has its own hours and access rules.
That is the local quirk: a water district quietly became a park and trail operator too.
