Fishing at Benbrook Lake in Tarrant County

TPWD lists a 3,635-acre lake on the Clear Fork of the Trinity River near US 377. Largemouth bass is the most popular sport fish. The lake also holds blue and channel catfish, crappie, white bass, and hybrid striped bass. TPWD's broad ratings sound upbeat, but its latest lake survey was more mixed. Neither one can promise today's bite.

Low water can close a Corps boat ramp. The official ramp lists do not always change at the same time. Check the Corps Benbrook page and live lake report before towing a boat. You can also call the project office at 817-292-2400. A separate TPWD access map marks ramp sites and features.

Most anglers age 17 or older need a current Texas fishing license and a freshwater endorsement. TPWD lists age and other exceptions. Benbrook's Corps parks are not Texas state parks, so the state-park fishing exception does not apply there.
