The Trinity River Authority Serves Tarrant County and the Broader Basin

The Trinity River Authority, or TRA, is the local sponsor for the Region 3 flood plan. That plan covers the Trinity basin. TRA also works with the National Weather Service on a tool for reports from flooded places. These basin jobs differ from TRWD's lakes, water sales, and Fort Worth levees.

During a flood, follow city or county orders and NWS warnings. Use TRA for basin plans and river-wide flood tools. Use TRWD for its lakes, levees, and lake reports. The names sound alike, but the jobs are not the same. Picking the right agency can save a lot of time.
