Southwest Regional Park Is a Big County Sports Hub

Southwest Williamson County Regional Park is the big organized-sports park for the Leander and Cedar Park side of the county, and it covers a wide range: fields for soccer, softball, football, and cricket, a stadium track, tennis and basketball courts, cricket nets, and a playscape. Cricket is the tell that this park serves a community a little different from the standard Texas ballfield crowd.

It isn't all leagues, though. Crushed-granite and natural-surface trails wind through it for walking and biking, and the Quarry Splash Pad usually runs from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day. On a single afternoon the same park hosts a tournament, a quiet walk, and a line of kids waiting on the water.

Fields book up, splash pads close for maintenance, and construction moves around, so check the county's status and booking page before you build a game day or a group outing around any one piece of it.
