River Park
Blue Hole Park Is Georgetown's Limestone Swim Spot
The City of Georgetown describes Blue Hole Park as a scenic lagoon bordered by limestone bluffs along the South Fork of the San Gabriel River, five blocks north of the downtown Square along North Austin Avenue.
The city lists fishing, picnic areas, restrooms, trail access, wading areas, and natural-water swimming, with no entry fee and no equipment rentals. It is the kind of in-town swimming hole that draws people on a hot Georgetown afternoon.
Georgetown is also clear that entering the river is at your own risk: the city does not monitor water flow or bacteria levels, and jumping or diving from the cliffs is not allowed. Look at current city park rules, river conditions, parking, and any closure notices before planning a swim.
