Berry Springs Park Has Creek Shade Near Georgetown
A century-old pecan grove anchors Berry Springs Park and Preserve, on the edge of Georgetown along Berry Creek. It's the slower kind of county park, built around water and shade instead of ballfields and bleachers.
Inside it you'll find hiking and biking trails, fishing, picnicking, camping, covered pavilions you can rent, and a large playground. There are also two donkeys, Lil' Bob and Pedro, who hang around for visitors to see but not to feed. They're on a managed diet, and the park means it.
Hours, camping rules, and pavilion bookings shift with the season, and a burn ban can put limits on a group day, so check the Williamson County Parks page before you load up the truck for a weekend under the pecans.
