South Lakes Park mixes trails, fishing piers, and the Eureka playground

South Lakes Park and Eureka Playground spreads across about 187 acres in south Denton. It has lakes with fishing piers, four pavilions, dozens of picnic tables and grills, basketball, tennis, sand volleyball, bridges, benches, drinking fountains, restrooms, and the Eureka 2 Playground that draws families from across town.

For walking and running, there is a 2.37-mile concrete trail plus a soft-surface path, so you can pick pavement or dirt depending on your mood and the weather.
