The Santa Fe Trail Carries East Dallas to White Rock Lake

The Santa Fe Trail is a 4.7-mile path laid down on a former railroad right-of-way in East Dallas. Dallas Parks says it starts near Deep Ellum and the Exposition Park area and runs out toward the west side of White Rock Lake.

Because it follows the old rail line, it quietly stitches the east side together: Deep Ellum, Fair Park, the old neighborhoods between them, and the lake, all on one route you can walk or bike without getting back in the car.

The Dallas Parks trail page lists the connections, including Fair Park, Deep Ellum, White Rock Lake, the SoPac Trail, and the future Trinity Forest Spine Trail, and is the official place to confirm the route.
