River Legacy Parks Protect Trinity River Woods in Arlington

River Legacy Parks is Arlington's big river park: about 1,300 acres of woods, wetland, and prairie along the Trinity River. It keeps rare river woods public in the middle of the metro.

The park has about eight miles of paved hike-and-bike trail, plus a separate 10-mile bike trail in the woods. It also has picnic areas, play areas, river overlooks, and the River Legacy Living Science Center.

For families, runners, riders, and anyone looking at north or central Arlington, River Legacy is useful local context. It helps that side of town still feel tied to the river.
