Search Harris County Real Property Records With the Clerk
Every deed, lien release, and plat tied to Harris County real estate is recorded by the County Clerk's Real Property Department. If you are buying a home, this is where you look for what is recorded against it, who owned it, and how the lot is platted.
The online search works by owner name, file number, date, or property description. Scanned images go back to November 1, 1960. A new document can take a business day or two to appear. The clerk also warns that the online database is not the official repository and may not show the full record.
For title work or a certified copy, use the Clerk's official copy and contact process. A screen grab is not the final word.
