Your Gregg County tax bill follows a stack of local boundaries

Gregg County has seven school districts, nine cities, Kilgore College District, and three emergency services districts. A parcel owes only the units that cover it. Those boundary lines are not always clear from a mailing address.

Do not estimate the full bill by adding rates. Each unit uses its rate and its own taxable value after exemptions and limits. That value can differ from one line of the bill to another. Gregg CAD's property search is a good first look. For a billed year, the tax statement names the units. GCAD or the named collector can answer a boundary question.
