Gateway Park Adds Big Public Space Along the Trinity River
Gateway Park gives east Fort Worth a big public outdoor place tied to the Trinity River. The City of Fort Worth lists it as a community park off East 1st Street, and at hundreds of acres it is one of the largest parks in the city.
It mixes a lot of uses: hike-and-bike trails along the river, soccer and ball fields, a disc golf course, picnic space, and the Fort Woof dog park, one of the best-known off-leash parks in the area. You can also fish the Trinity here.
For people who know only the Stockyards, downtown, or the west side, Gateway Park shows how much the river shapes east Fort Worth too. Check the city page for rules, field use, dog-park details, and current access.
