Cleburne State Park Wraps Trails Around a Spring-Fed Lake

Cleburne State Park sits in the wooded country southwest of Fort Worth. Its 116-acre Cedar Lake allows canoes, kayaks, fishing, swimming, and no-wake boating. Jet skis are not allowed. Nearly 13 miles of trails circle through the park, including a path to a hand-carved, three-tiered spillway that looks like a waterfall after rain.

The covered fishing pier is accessible, and TPWD lends fishing gear for use in the park. No fishing license is needed there. The park can reach capacity, so its live page is the place to check day-pass availability and temporary conditions before leaving Tarrant County.
