Brushy Creek Trail Links Parks and Neighborhoods

Brushy Creek Regional Trail runs about 7.75 miles of mostly concrete alongside Brushy Creek, the kind of path you can walk, jog, or bike without sharing it with traffic. The newer Phase V stretch picks up west of Chisholm Trail Road in Round Rock.

The main run carries on for more than six miles, from just west of Great Oaks Drive over to Twin Lakes Park in Cedar Park. The parks strung along the way break it up with splash pads, swim areas, climbing rocks, fishing docks, places to put in a canoe or kayak, restrooms, picnic areas, and pavilions. So the trail ties together daily exercise, creek views, homes, and shops across the southwest side of the county in one line on the map.

Where you start changes the day a lot. If you want parking, water, restrooms, or just a short out-and-back, the county trail map is the thing to glance at first, because the trailheads aren't all equal.
