Bluebird Park and Boat Ramp Keeps Water Access Simple
Bluebird Park and Boat Ramp is not trying to be a grand park. It is the small kind of water spot Orange County actually uses: a boat dock, a boat ramp, one large picnic pavilion with a barbecue pit, picnic tables, game tables, a small play area, and three small picnic pavilions. The address is 102 Farragut Avenue, off Simmons Drive in Orange.
That modest list says a lot about the county. Water access here does not always come as a big marina or a ticketed place. Sometimes it is a ramp, a dock, a roof, and enough room for a kid to climb while someone watches the line. Bluebird needs no reservation, and its daily hours run from 6:00 AM to 8:00 PM.
The site works as a walk-up landing, so the note is less about planning a trip and more about knowing the local map. Paired with Claiborne West's woods, Bluebird rounds out the county: trees west of town, water access in Orange, and a public place where the day's plan can be lunch under a roof and time by the water.
