Orange, Texas
Orange stands on the west bank of the Sabine River near the far eastern edge of Texas, about 22 miles east of Beaumont in Orange County. As a deepwater river port linked to the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway, it has long been a center of shipbuilding, lumber, and petrochemical industry, and its yards built warships during World War II. The town is also home to the Stark Museum of Art, drawn from the collection of the Stark family.
Property here runs through the Orange Central Appraisal District and the county tax office — the homestead exemption, the appraisal cap, protests, and any MUD, PID, or special districts all sit at the parcel level. The Orange County notes below cover the practical details, with the official county directory for the appraisal district and tax office.
