Windom, Texas

Windom is a small rural town in Fannin County, on the blackland prairie of northeastern Texas about 46 miles northeast of McKinney. It began as a stop on the railroad in the nineteenth century and remains a farming community, surrounded by cotton and grain fields and open pasture. The country here is gently rolling prairie in one of the higher-lying parts of the region.

Property here runs through the Fannin Central Appraisal District and the county tax office — the homestead exemption, the appraisal cap, protests, and any MUD, PID, or special districts all sit at the parcel level. The Fannin County notes below cover the practical details, with the official county directory for the appraisal district and tax office.
