Honey Grove, Texas

Honey Grove is a city in Fannin County, set among the rolling blackland prairies and farm country of North Texas about 51 miles northeast of McKinney. By tradition the town takes its name from Davy Crockett, who is said to have camped nearby on his way to Texas in 1836 and found wild bees and honey in the hollow trees of the area. The community grew as an agricultural and railroad town and calls itself "The Sweetest Town in Texas."

Property here runs through the Fannin Central Appraisal District and the county tax office — the homestead exemption, the appraisal cap, protests, and any MUD, PID, or special districts all sit at the parcel level. The Fannin County notes below cover the practical details, with the official county directory for the appraisal district and tax office.
