Wilson, Texas

Wilson is a small farming city in Lynn County on the flat High Plains of the South Plains, about 19 miles south of Lubbock. It was established in the early twentieth century in anticipation of the railroad, and its economy has long centered on cotton and its ginning. The country around it is open, level cropland typical of the Llano Estacado.

Property here runs through the Lynn Central Appraisal District and the county tax office — the homestead exemption, the appraisal cap, protests, and any MUD, PID, or special districts all sit at the parcel level. The Lynn County notes below cover the practical details, with the official county directory for the appraisal district and tax office.
