Ponder, Texas

Ponder is a small town in Denton County, in the rolling prairie and cross-timbers country of North Texas about 10 miles west of Denton and roughly 29 miles north of Fort Worth. Its old downtown bank building gained lasting recognition as a filming location for a scene depicting one of the era's most famous outlaw bank robberies. Once a quiet farming and ranching community, Ponder has seen new growth as the Dallas-Fort Worth area has expanded outward.

Property here runs through the Denton Central Appraisal District and the county tax office — the homestead exemption, the appraisal cap, protests, and any MUD, PID, or special districts all sit at the parcel level. The Denton County notes below cover the practical details, with the official county directory for the appraisal district and tax office.
