Lancaster, Texas

Lancaster is a city in southern Dallas County, in the DFW / North Texas region, about 13 miles south of Dallas on the blackland prairie. One of the county's older settlements, it retains a historic town square lined with late-19th and early-20th-century commercial buildings around a historic town square. The Lancaster Regional Airport, once a training field for military pilots, is home to a wing of the Commemorative Air Force that maintains and flies vintage World War II aircraft, and Cedar Valley College serves the area.

Property here runs through the Dallas Central Appraisal District and the county tax office — the homestead exemption, the appraisal cap, protests, and any MUD, PID, or special districts all sit at the parcel level. The Dallas County notes below cover the practical details, with the official county directory for the appraisal district and tax office.
