Who Appraises Your Property in Dallas County

A Dallas County property-tax question usually belongs at one of two desks. The Dallas Central Appraisal District (DCAD) appraises property, processes exemption applications, and handles appraisal protests. It does not set tax rates or collect taxes. Each city, school district, county, and other taxing unit sets its own rate.

For a value, exemption, ownership, or protest question, call DCAD at 214-631-0910. For a bill or payment, use the collector printed on that bill. The Dallas County Tax Office collects for many, but not every, taxing unit in the county. The bill itself is the quickest way to confirm the right collector.
