Denison, Texas

Denison lies in Grayson County near the Red River in North Texas, about 39 miles north of McKinney at the far northern edge of the state. The city grew as a railroad town on the Missouri, Kansas and Texas line, and its best-known landmark is the modest frame house where Dwight D. Eisenhower, the 34th president, was born, now preserved as a state historic site. The nearby Red River and Lake Texoma, one of the largest reservoirs in Texas, shape much of the surrounding landscape and recreation.

Property here runs through the Grayson Central Appraisal District and the county tax office — the homestead exemption, the appraisal cap, protests, and any MUD, PID, or special districts all sit at the parcel level. The Grayson County notes below cover the practical details, with the official county directory for the appraisal district and tax office.
