Many Grayson County renewals dropped the safety-inspection step
The one-sticker system still exists in Grayson County. The safety check changed. Since January 1, 2025, noncommercial vehicles do not need a safety inspection before registration. Commercial vehicles still need one.
Emissions tests are a separate rule. Grayson is not in the listed emissions counties. A regular passenger vehicle here is outside that test group. The main county tax office handles title and registration at 100 W. Houston Street in Sherman. Bring proof of insurance if you renew in person.
