Trinity River Audubon Center Is a Public Door into the Forest
If the Great Trinity Forest feels too big to approach, Trinity River Audubon Center is the easy front door. It sits at 6500 Great Trinity Forest Way, about eight miles southeast of downtown Dallas.
The center covers 120 acres and has about five miles of nature trails, indoor exhibits, and a building set into the river landscape. It also runs school and family programs, with regular public days generally Wednesday through Sunday.
That makes it a structured first visit to the forest, not a guess at a random trailhead. Hours, programs, and closures can shift with the season.
