Suter Refuge Puts a Boardwalk Right on Oso Bay
Hans and Pat Suter Wildlife Refuge is one of those Corpus Christi places that feels modest until the birds start moving. The city trail page puts it at 909 Ennis Joslin Road and lists a one-mile nature trail plus an 800-foot boardwalk.
That boardwalk is the point. Oso Bay is shallow, windy, and full of edges. Suter lets you stand close to the marsh without stomping through it. Birding, bay views, and a short trail all fit in one stop.
It also sits in a very everyday part of town. Ennis Joslin carries commuters, students, and errands, then suddenly there is a boardwalk and bay habitat right off the road.
People do not have to leave Corpus Christi to get salt air, shorebirds, and a quiet loop. They can pull off Ennis Joslin and be in the bay world in a few minutes.
