Rowlett Creek Preserve Gives Garland a Soft-Trail Network
Rowlett Creek Preserve packs 16 miles of soft-surface trails into a 94-acre tract beside Rowlett Creek in Garland. Dallas County describes a winding network through wooded and grassland areas, which is why mountain bikers and hikers know it far beyond the immediate neighborhood.
For Garland and northeast Dallas County, it is real trail mileage close to home, well past a mowed lawn park, all tied to the creek corridor.
Check the Dallas County page before going. It lists the entrance at 4200 Centerville Road, hours, rules, and the maintenance contact, and notes that the trails may close after rain because of mud, so check the DORBA trail-status page when it has been wet.
