Rose Rudman ties south Tyler parks into a trail system

On a normal weeknight, Rose Rudman is the trail south Tyler is actually out on. It's a paved path made for walking, jogging, biking, and skating, shaded by trees and tracing creeks as it goes. In the city's trail directory it sits right alongside the Southside Park Trail and the South Tyler maps.

What lifts it above a single loop is how it connects. Tyler publishes one combined Rose Rudman, Southside, and South Tyler map because the paths knit together into a corridor rather than three stranded segments — you can stitch a longer outing across linked park land without ever crossing back to a car.

This is the close-to-home walking-and-biking layer of Smith County, a different animal from the big reservoirs and the state park. Pull the city's trail directory for the current combined map and any closure notices, and you can plan a route as short or as long as you want.
