Lake Tyler and Lake Tyler East supply water to the city of Tyler

Lake Tyler and Lake Tyler East are part of Tyler's drinking water supply. The City of Tyler owns both reservoirs and draws city water from them. That is why these lakes are treated with more care than a wide-open recreation lake.

You can still boat and fish there, but Tyler Water Utilities sets lake rules you need to check before you launch. The drinking-water role can matter on shore, too. A lake lot here may carry limits that a lot on another lake would not.
