Port Aransas Park

Roberts Point Park Watches the Ship Channel Like a Front Row Seat

Roberts Point Park sits where Port Aransas shows its working-water side. The 50-acre park juts into the Corpus Christi Ship Channel and helps form the safe harbor for the city marina.

The park is built for watching as much as playing. A one-mile bulkhead works as a walking, jogging, and cycling loop, and the observation tower looks over the ship channel. The city even points to dolphins bow-surfing in front of cargo ships and tankers.

It is also part of the arrival view. Ferry riders from the mainland can see the park as they come toward Mustang Island, which makes the ship channel feel less hidden and more like the island's front door.

That is pure Port Aransas: playground, pavilions, marina, ship traffic, dolphins, and the Patsy Jones Amphitheater sharing the same public edge. It is a park, but it also teaches you how the island sits between vacation life and port life.
