Check Williamson County PID Assessments Before You Buy

Williamson County's Public Improvement District page says a PID is a yearly assessment that can be included on a property tax statement, but it is not an ad valorem property tax. The county also notes that exemptions such as a 100 percent disabled veteran exemption do not lower the PID assessment amount.

The county page lists PID contacts and notices for districts connected to places such as Liberty Hill, Georgetown, Hutto, and Leander. It also says the Tax Assessor-Collector generally does not have PID payoff information, except where the page specifically notes otherwise.

Before buying in a newer subdivision, check the tax statement, title documents, and county PID notice page. A low appraised value or a property-tax exemption does not necessarily remove a separate PID assessment.
