Tax Payments
In Hood County, Pay Your Property Taxes at the Appraisal District
Most Texas counties split the work: the appraisal district sets your value and the tax assessor-collector takes your check. Hood County folded those together on the payment side. The county Tax Assessor-Collector no longer accepts Hood County property-tax payments at all and sends you to the Hood Central Appraisal District at 1902 West Pearl Street in Granbury, the same place you already pay city and school taxes.
Hood CAD handles it online through a Pay Online Tax link or in person, but not over the phone. Their own payment page is clear that card and electronic payments go through the website or the counter, not a call. So if you're used to mailing a check to the courthouse tax office, that habit will bounce now.
Before you send anything, pull up your account on hoodcad.net and check the year and the taxing units listed against your bill. If a mailed statement, an online balance, and a closing document don't line up, call Hood CAD and straighten it out before the money leaves your hands.
