Tax Payment
How to actually pay your Nueces County property tax — and not lose the check
Bills land after the appraisal district certifies values in the fall, and the Nueces County Tax Assessor-Collector is who collects. Pay online by pulling up your property and choosing check or card, or mail it to P.O. Box 2810, Corpus Christi 78403. If you're cutting it close to a deadline and want overnight delivery, that goes to a different door: 901 Leopard Street, Suite 301, in the courthouse.
Two things keep a routine payment from turning into a phone-tag project. Make the check payable to the Nueces County Tax Assessor-Collector, not 'Nueces County,' and write your property tax account number on it. A check with no account number is a check the office has to chase down and match by hand.
You don't need the paper statement in front of you to pay. As early as October you can look the account up online or call (361) 888-0230 and get the exact amount owed over the phone, then send it. The account number is the thread that ties your money to your parcel, so keep it somewhere you can find it every January.
