Pleasure Island Gives Port Arthur a Front Porch on Sabine Lake

The City of Port Arthur says Pleasure Island is home to Lakefront Park, Logan Music Park, the Island Disc Golf Course, and park space by the Pleasure Island RV Park. It's a man-made island created from the spoil dredged to build the ship channel — now turned into the city's public waterfront.

The city also describes about a mile of piers with views over Sabine Lake. That gives Jefferson County a kind of waterfront that feels different from Sea Rim's open Gulf beach or the working port nearby: somewhere to walk, fish, or just sit by the water close to town.
