The Playa Drain Trail Adds a Valley Route

Not every El Paso walk has to climb a mountain. In Mission Valley, the Playa Drain Trail gives people a paved route near Shawver Park and Yarbrough Drive for walking, biking, errands, or an after-dinner loop close to home.

The city opened another segment in 2023. That stretch runs nearly a mile from Knights Drive to Yarbrough Drive and adds benches, lighting, and picnic tables. It also fits into the larger Paso del Norte Trail system being built across the county.
