Conroe Park
McDade Park Blends Disc Golf, Fishing, and Neighborhood Play
McDade Park sits at 10310 FM 2854, west of Conroe proper. It opened on 19 acres and grew once an 18-hole disc golf course was added in 2004, which is still the thing it's best known for.
Around the discs you'll find a pavilion, restrooms, a play structure, athletic fields, exercise stations, a basketball court, a half-mile jogging and walking trail, picnic tables, horseshoe pits, and a fishing spot.
It's a fair picture of Conroe's everyday park system — nothing flashy, but it absorbs a lot of ordinary routines at once. Someone walks the half-mile loop while the kids work the playground and a foursome throws the back nine. The fields and pavilion can be reserved through Conroe Parks and Recreation if you're bringing a crowd.
