Killeen Park

Lions Club Park is Killeen's close-in spot for a walk or a gathering

Not every outing in Bell County needs to be a trip to the lake. Lions Club Park sits in Killeen itself, and its 1.4-mile hike and bike trail, opened in October 2011, loops around the park's recreation area for an easy everyday walk or ride.

What sets it apart from a plain trail is everything else on the grounds. The park has pavilions, an amphitheater, and indoor meeting rooms, which makes it a common choice for birthday parties, club meetings, and small community events. Reservations go through Killeen Parks and Recreation.

So it works two ways: a quick loop when you just want to move, and a place to host people when you need a roof and some space. In a city the size of Killeen, that combination is why a park like this stays busy on weekends. Check the city facility page for current reservation rules and fees before you plan around it.
