Dana Peak Trail is Stillhouse Hollow's hike, bike, and horseback ground

Stillhouse Hollow is not just a boat lake. On its north shore near Harker Heights, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers maintains the Dana Peak Trail, a multi-use system open to hikers, mountain bikers, and horseback riders. The trails run from the Dana Peak trailhead, just outside Dana Peak Park, over to Stillhouse Park.

The terrain mixes easy two-lane fire road with rugged single track, loops, and short spur trails out to views over the water. There is horse trailer parking near the Dana Peak Park boat ramp, which is unusual enough that equestrian riders come from a good distance to use it.

It is one of Bell County's better spots for dry-land outdoor time, but it is not all flat. The Corps warns that some sections run along steep drop-offs and loose rock, so match the route to your skill level and check the official trail page for current conditions before you ride or hike.
