Lear Park is Longview's big field-and-trail park

Lear Park is where Longview's outdoor life gets loud in a friendly way. The 182-acre regional sports complex sits at 100 H. G. Mosley Parkway, with softball, baseball, and soccer fields spread around the park. On a busy weekend it can feel like half the county is there for a game, a walk, or a kid's birthday.

The quieter pieces are just as useful. Lear has a walking trail and a fishing pier, so it is more than a tournament park. KidsView Playground and the Jack M. Mann Splash Pad make it a place for families who are not keeping score. The Miracle League Field adds a fully accessible baseball field to that mix.

Lear also tells a civic story. The land was gathered over several years, construction happened in phases, and the later work tied into the city's 2018 bond program. That makes the park feel less like a leftover open space and more like a long local project, built piece by piece for everyday Gregg County use.
