Public Boat Ramps Give Access to Lake Conroe

Lake Conroe is a 20,118-acre reservoir on the West Fork of the San Jacinto River. Public boat ramps and recreational facilities are available around the lake. The Cagle Recreation Area, located in the Sam Houston National Forest on the lake's shore, is one well-known public access point.

The San Jacinto River Authority (SJRA) manages the lake. For current information on boat ramps, access points, and any water-level conditions that affect use, contact SJRA at 936-588-1111 or check tpwd.texas.gov for public access details and current fishing regulations.
