A groundwater district oversees water wells in Goliad County

Goliad County sits over the Gulf Coast Aquifer. That is the underground water source most rural properties here depend on. The Goliad County Groundwater Conservation District exists to protect that supply and prevent waste.

Before you drill a new well, contact the district. They maintain a list of approved well drillers and may require permits or registration.
