FEMA Released Preliminary Flood Maps for Parts of Collin County

FEMA released preliminary maps in May 2026. They cover parts of Allen, Lowry Crossing, Lucas, McKinney, Princeton, Fairview, New Hope, and unincorporated Collin County. These maps are not in force yet, so they do not change insurance rules today.

Enter an address in FEMA's Map Service Center to see the map now in force. Its Changes Viewer compares that map with the preliminary one. FEMA has not set an effective date. If the map in force puts a building in a Special Flood Hazard Area, a government-backed mortgage generally requires flood insurance.
